Dear Coles, when I said I didn't want any free samples, what I meant was I didn't want ANY FREE SAMPLES. I do not want your free "my first tuna!", I do not want your free hollandaise sauce, I DO NOT WANT YOUR FREE FROZEN KIPPERS.

For godsake. free hollandaise sauce is one thing. FREE STINKY STUFF is an entirely other, deal-breaking thing. We shall now be using Woolworths.

Anyone want some frozen kippers? One day only deal!

And also, greater dandenong is hiring both librarians and customer service staff. There's a chance that all those jobs have someones name on them, i admit, but dandenong and springvale library are both excellent places to work at - the pay is decent, the co workers are almost all excellent, and there is good food nearby.

And someone wanted to stalk me on tripit? I am there, with my (gasp) real name. That is, the name on my drivers license rather than the one on my passport. Though I don't believe you can stalk me effectively without signing up and asking my permission. I've imported a bunch of the details of our trip to europe and it made it very clear that i fucked up one of the flights and so we have one day less in edinburgh. if i never post again, louise has gotten annoyed about this. oops.

Really? separating eggs is a skill for an intermediate cook? Toasting walnuts is not a beginner skill? Using a "big cake mover" is a remarkable achievement? This is a dough one makes in the food processor and then kneads - and then the recipe points out you can patch the dough with scraps. Yes. They are all identifiers of a delicate dough. One that needs special tools.

Remove the foil from fancy cheese. Goddamn. The reason she doesn't specify you should remove the shell from the walnuts is that the recipe only asks for walnut pieces.

Man, I must have been an advanced cook when I was nine! I'd never even heard of risotto, but I could separate eggs!

I replaced my photo wall this evening, without actually printing any more pictures, just rearranging most of the ones that were already there. (I'd taken them down so I could put up the conbook and see how it all looked printed out.)
There's one photo of pirates from the Galway st pat's day parade, and one photo of the crowd at the Falls last year, and one photo of me and maddy, and one photo of me being touristy in ireland somewhere (blarney i think). Everything else - about 40 photos originally, only 30 now - is landscapes and skies. And the crowd at falls is really a landscape with sky above and crowd below. it very much looks like "who travelled thru europe on her own? someone with a camera!"

Oh man I so suck at circus. I was up late last night so I piked out on the trapeze but I did a handstand! Two handstands! and cartwheels! Okay, Louise had to catch my legs with the handstands, and I joined the remedial cartwheeling people, but I don't suck as bad as I did two weeks ago.

More importantly,

THE CONTINUUM BOOK IS DONE. It got quite difficult in the last thirty hours, but it is OVER NOW.
